[Joy News 24 Park Jin-young] ‘Twenty-Five Twenty-One,’ ‘Our Blues,’ and ‘Yumi’s Cells’ had the honor of winning the AACA in Singapore.
‘Twenty-Five Twenty-One,’ ‘Our Blues,’ and ‘Yumi’s Cells’ were highlighted on December 7th and 8th during the AACA (Asian Academy Creative Awards) in Singapore.
‘Twenty-Five Twenty-One,’ ‘Our Blues’ Noh Hee-gyoung, and ‘Yumi’s Cells’ win the AACA in Singapore [STUDIO Dragon]
Singapore holds the AACA, the biggest content celebration in Asia, in every December to review and award the content market.
The AACA had been held online for the past two years due to the global pandemic, but its 2022 award gathered producers from all over the world including Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan, Cambodia, and Myanmar.
‘Twenty-Five Twenty-One,’(written by Kwon Do-eun, directed by Jung Ji-hyun and Kim Seung-ho, produced by Hwa&Dam Pictures) in which Kim Tae Ri and Nam Joo-hyuk played the main roles, won the BEST DRAMA SERIES. The series received much support from global fans early in the year with its story based in 1998 when the youth was robbed of its dreams by the era but their growth and romance grew nonetheless.
The writer of ‘Our Blues’(written by Noh Hee-gyoung, directed by Kim Gyu-tae Kim Yang-hee Lee Jung-mook, created by STUDIO Dragon, produced by GTist) Noh Hee-gyoung won the BEST SCREENPLAY. ‘Our Blues’ encourages the bittersweet lives of everyone who may be at their peak or trough, and it was acclaimed as a genuinely well-made series that moved the global audience.
Chief Producer Kim Sung-min of STUDIO Dragon said, “It’s my honor to receive this honor in place of Noh Hee-gyoung…I’m grateful for the writer’s heart-warming message that ‘every living creature, be happy.’ We’ll strive to create good works.”
‘Yumi’s Cells,’ in which Kim Go Eun and Park Jin Young played the main roles, was called the best title in the BEST ORIGINAL PROGRAMMME BY A STREAMER/OTT. Producer Yoo Seul-gi said, “This series was a big challenge for us, and we are grateful to receive this award. It was a good decision to make this drama.”
