[Sports Chosun Baek Ji-eun] tvN ‘Dear My Friends’ behind-the-scenes of the intense fight scene between Go Doo-sim and Ko Hyun Jung is revealed.
Episode 9 of ‘Dear My Friends’ aired on the 10th, in which Jang Nan-hee (mother played by Go Doo-sim) and Park Wan (daughter played by Ko Hyun Jung) have an intense fight. Park Wan breaks out that she remembers how Nan-hee was going to kill them both in the past and pours out that her life has always been her mother’s since that incident. Wan breaks whatever is near her, and she hurts herself by pounding her hands on broken glasses. Nan-hee cries and throws herself to stop her daughter. The following narration moves the audience. Although Park Wan accuses her mother for her own action of dumping the disabled boyfriend Seo Yeon-ha (boyfriend played by Zo In Sung), she admits that she took the easy route of blaming her mother. This powerful scene pushed the viewer ratings of ‘Dear My Friends’ up to the average of 5.3%, and 7.2% at the peak (Nielsen Korea, paid platform, national range).
This scene was shot at one take without a blooper. The actors needed to take some time off after the shoot because the scene was so consuming.
The staff remembers, “the entire shoot was done on the first take without a single blooper because of the realistic acting. The two actors had such a high level of concentration. The scene must have been a difficult one, but the actors came through and showed their best performance. The staff at the location were all watching with awe.”
